Mountainfilm on Tour presented by Osprey in Australia returns this March with a brand-new program curated from the legendary Mountainfilm Festival in Telluride, Colorado.
Established in 1979, Mountainfilm is one of North America’s longest-running documentary film festivals. Held annually in the San Juan Mountains, the festival is built on a simple but powerful belief: film, art and ideas can inspire audiences to create a better world.
Mountainfilm is known not only for its breathtaking cinematography, but for its depth. The stories selected each year explore adventure, environment and the human spirit through a lens of purpose, perspective and possibility.
The Australian tour brings a carefully curated selection of short documentary films from the most recent Telluride festival to cinemas nationwide. Importantly, the playlist changes every year. Each tour features fresh films, new voices and new perspectives. No recycled program.
The 2026 Program
This year’s lineup spans mountains, rivers, snow and sea. The films include:

• A groundbreaking freeride mountain biker navigating the pressure and preparation behind one of the sport’s most demanding competitions.
• A desert rock climber whose creative practice mirrors the patience and precision of her craft.
• A pioneering river guide reshaping leadership in a historically male-dominated industry.
• Human-powered splitboarding in Colorado’s backcountry.
• A community climbing gym redefining access and empowerment.
• An alpine highline journey exploring balance and clarity.
• A mountain bike innovator continuing to push progression.
• A personal retracing of mountain heritage and memory.
• An inclusive avalanche education initiative making winter terrain more welcoming.
Together, these films celebrate resilience, creativity, inclusion and responsibility. They honour wild places and the people who move through them with intention.
